The Algarve is renowned for the quality of its golf courses.  Whilst most golfers head to Vilamoura and the surrounding areas, those in the know find the offerings of the Western Algarve a real treat.  Just a couple of minutes' drive from Salema is the wonderful course of PDF Santo Antonio.  This is complemented by a further 3 courses all within a 15-minute drive of Salema: Espiche – a real tough test of golf (bring plenty of spare balls because the rough is tough !!), Boavista – a good resort course with some challenging and scenic holes, Palmares – the award-winning (Portugal best golf course for 5 successive years, 21st best in Europe etc. etc. …) 27 hole delight with stunning scenery.
